My pictures (paintings) are inspired by the thoughts of “Kabir” which are “Nirbhay-Nirgun” (fearless and without attribute/absolute). The subject of my painting is the “Shadow”, ‘a golden experience of my life'. For me, object is not as important as its shadow, which are without attribute and are ‘free’ flowing with a beam of light. The Shadow can strew anywhere. This is limitless and infinite, and doesn’t become restless like desires. To Be or Not to Be is not a matter, but its existence is important to me.
At times the form of Shadow in my painting radically changes the original form of the object. Similarly, the source of ‘light’ renders a different angle, different appearance and newer expanse to the ‘shadow’.
It transpires while watching some object along with changing dimension, that the same is a maiden happening and would not transpire ever again. The same moment freezes in the sub- consciousness and reflects in my paintings. This very moment, my pictures discover their own appearance. Light is like love, which converses hovering around my chair in my absence and confers a new dimension on the definition of life, the revelation of emergence of light.
During the strangle between the emergence and end of the light in my mind, my paintings continue to remain a halt. Only they swerve along with a new light in search of fresh evolution as the light steps up, new room evolves. At times the shadow becomes the space for me. On the other hand, sometimes it replaces the light.
This is as easy and as complicated as life. In the continuity of this light and shadow, my pictures become limitless, perpetual and also full of life. The crux of the life of my pictures lies perhaps, in the following excerpt from the Bible - Justice and truth. But love is above all.
